Pentecost

I went to Central Hillsong church for this Pentecost service.

It is my daughter's home church. I was able to meet some of her friends. A kind Finnish girl smiled when she was approaching us. An Estonian girl was a part of the welcome team.

The speaker came from Denmark. He was a friend of the pastor who is a national leader of the Hillsong churches and who used to be a lead pastor of the Central church.

He spoke about the time.

There is a Chronos time. Tick tock.

And then there is a Chairos time which is God's opportune time. This is when a shift into the supernatural happens and the miracles take place.

We need to learn to recognise the times.

Ephesians 5:15-17 King James Version 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

1 Chronicles 12:32 King James Version 32 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

There is a time which we know, and which moves on linearly, a second at a time. And then there is a different time when things happen.

The speaker illustrated it with a marital example. With him watching a movie with his wife who complains that they never spend any time together. He could not understand what she was talking about. They had just watched a movie together. That lasted for a couple of hours.

But his wife meant quality time. Which is a different perception of time.

There was a time when I had so much work to do. I wanted to attend a church day out but felt that I had no time to do it. Then Hoy Spirit inspired me to see my time as I saw my tithes. Trusting Him by sowing the time, and reaping it. I decided to give this time to God and trust Him with the rest. He made a miracle and multiplied my time by letting me do more with less. It was a supernatural expansion.

Lately, there has not been too much supernatural in my life. Tangible supernatural. We are always in the supernatural dimesion by carrying His Holy Spirit within us. By hosting His Presence.

Maybe we are not so close than we used to be. But this can always be reversed. It is not He who has distanced Himself from us. We are the ones who can draw close to Him again, to hear His voice, and discern His movement. When we need a wise counsel, a direction, or a sense of understanding, He is always there, ever ready to speak to us. It is up to us to make time to listen to what He has to say. He is like a radio station which is always on - it is up to us to finetune our receiver and sharpen our discernment to hear His voice.

James 4:8a New King James Version 8a Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
